B4RN Digging in Halton gets off to a Hyperfast start!

The project to supply B4RN fibre optic broadband to Halton has gotten off the ground to a flying start in recent weeks. After a few setbacks, digging began at Halton Mill on 4th Feb and progressed around 200m in 2 weekends! Several houses have ducting to their properties ready for B4RN to install their fibre!

The main core route to the Centre began a few weeks back when our cabinet was delivered and installed just behind the Skate Park! We then placed ducting from the cabinet to the community centre on a single Saturday afternoon! A few hardened volunteers have extended this trench behind the Centre to begin its journey towards the high road and onto the rest of the village!

More help is needed with digging and planning. Many streets are still without champions to help organise residents and extend the network!

To get involved simply register your interest and follow the Facebook page to get updated information on digging times/locations!! All you need is a spade/any useful digging implements you have and some suitable clothing!

A progress meeting is held on first Tuesday of each month at the Centre! All welcome!
